Devotees of Supreme Lord are sages. The foremost quality of a monk or devotee is non-violence. Those who wish to return to the abode of Supreme Personality of Godhead should practice non-violence. The devotee should be tolerant and extremely kind to others. Even if he is hurt, he should tolerate but should not tolerate if others get hurt. The whole world is filled of violence, so the first task of a devotee is to stop this violence which also includes the slaughter of animals is going on and many other such instances.

A real devotee is the friend of all living entities not only human beings.

 

The practice of this non-violence is possible only when we follow the footsteps of great masters of the four sects as per the Vaishnava philosophy.
