One may ask that we have received the teachings given by the Jagadguru Sree Krishna, which are capable of giving us liberation then what is the need of a spiritual master in our life?

 

Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Sarasvati Goswami Prabhupad explained that for our own benefit we must accept Jagadguru Bhagavan as well as Diksha Guru. Accepting only One, will have some limitations for us.

 

This is because Supreme Personality of Godhead impart the knowledge of Absolute truth only through the perceptorial channel i.e. Guru parampara.

 

Diksha Guru or Sadguru are effulgence of Jagadguru Sree Krishna. In order to bestow their causeless mercy upon the conditioned souls, they convey the voice of God to the devotee through the Guru-parampara. They never cheat the disciple, neither praise disciple falsely nor have any intention of extorting money from the disciple. They are simply dear associates of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Hence accepting Them, will please Jagadguru Sree Krishna.
