Does faith have eyes? No ! Faith is blind. Whatever we have seen, eaten, smelled, whether it is visible or our own experience. Whatever we have heard from someone or read, which we do not have our own experience and we believe in that, then that faith is called blind faith.
Now the question arises that if one has to believe, then on whom should it be done or on what? This matter is very serious. If the person telling us or from where we have read is wrong, then belief in those things will give us nostalgia or will lead us to sorrow. On the other hand, if the person telling us or writing is right, then faith in him will lead us towards success or happiness.
For example, when we have to go somewhere, we book tickets at the ticket counter of the railway station. We give our hard earned money to him without hesitation at the behest of the officer before taking the ticket. However, if the same officer finds us somewhere outside and asks for money, then we will never give our money to him.
Now we have given money to the officer sitting at the railway window because we believe that in exchange for that ticket, the railway will give us a place to sit in the train compartment on the said day which will take us towards our destination. And if we give this money to an unauthorized person, then its result will be wrong because we may not get tickets at all or get tickets at unusual prices.
In the end, it will be deceit. That’s why we should trust only the authorized person.
Similarly, if we want to get devotion to God, if we want to go towards our eternal welfare abode Vaikuntha, then we should go to the authentic person or get information from the authentic book like Ramayana, Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Shrimad Bhagavatam, Vedas, Guru Granth Sahib etc.
If there is a Shroutriya celibate(Monk) person telling us from the spiritual vision, or if we have Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, the book of divine teachings of Lord Shri Krishna, then faith in him will lead us to the path of devotion or as such, the path of eternal bliss.
